The Quadra, one of Elinchrom’s most anticipated products, is a compact, lightweight battery pack and head system which is now available in the US.

Not only are Quadra’s small and lightweight, they are also powerful and fast. Quadra’s have a power range from 8.2 to 400ws and support two asymmetric heads. Lightning fast recycle times and Elinchrom’s shortest flash duration helps make for an unbeatable package. Some of the built in features include:

• Built-in Skyport Triggering
• Eye-Cell Technology (to help with pre-flash issues)
• Power Steps (from 1/10 step increments to any 1/20, 1/30, … 1/90, 1 stop increments)

The Ranger Quadra is designed to work with two brand new heads known as Ranger Q heads. The Quadra “S” (standard) head shortest flash duration is 1/3200 of a second while the Quadra “A” head shortest flash duration is 1/6000 of a second. These new heads are about the same size and weight as popular tilt-head flashes on the market today but provide a much broader power range and access to modifiers. Their small size allows them to be mounted just about anywhere using a Manfrotto 175 spring clamp to clamp onto a window sill, lamp, door frame, or even the back of a chair.

The Ranger Q heads have their own line of Elinchrom accessories to accommodate their super-compact size. The heads come with a 5.3” standard reflector. A Quadra 7” grid reflector and a 15.75” Quadra square softbox are also available. Ranger Q heads can be fitted with an optional Ranger Quadra Reflector Adapter for EL Reflectors (EL 26339) which allows all of Elinchrom modifiers; except the 53” and 69” Rotalux to be used with a Quadra head.
